In actual gaming use the hottest core may touch 61 and the cooler cores, hi 50s. When testing like that (prime95), the hotter cores can get up into the mid 70s, the cooler cores, hi 60s or lo 70s. a quick test for me is 20 minutes, but I let it run for an hour before deciding to keep particular OC settings. Also fiddled with new fans and made small changes to enhance cooling.
I've since bumped vcore slightly up to reach 3.9Gz, and did testing to verify stability. I don't know if these only occur during my prime95 runs.
I see a about a dozen or so events logged on those days that it did happened. They come in spurts or 3 or 4 with the event being generated for multiple cores at the same time, but not necessarily all of the cores. That date coincides with when I discovered prime95 and used it to verify stability when bumping my cpu from 3.4Ghz (how i received it in 2010) to 3.7Ghz just by fiddling with boost multis (no changes to voltages or bclk). I'm not sure if it started then or if they occurred prior to that and the older events have been pruned from the log. I've got about 480 events going back to mid october of last year. My system logs these every now and again. I'm wondering what the collective wisdom of the OCN community knows about it? I just recently discovered this category of events in win7s "Event Viewer".
